Sleep America is proud to partner with The Salvation Army for
their second annual "Backpack For Kids" promotion. Sleep America store locations throughout the state will be serving as drop
off locations for the school supplies from July 1 -August 1, 2010.
All students should have the
necessary materials to be successful in school. Just in time for the beginning
of the school year, Valley residents will be able to drop off supplies to their
nearest Sleep America location. Items being requested include but are not
limited to backpacks, non toxic markers and crayons, glue, pencils, erasers,
notebooks, highlighters, scissors, and tape.
The
supplies will be distributed to schools with a high percentage of children on
free and reduced lunch. Now more than ever, more students will be in need of
supplies. In October of 2008, over 2 million children statewide qualified for
free and reduced lunch.
